I Support Family Farms

Delicious, locally grown carrots from Radical Root Organic Farm in Libertyville, IL. This family farm launched in 2013 as an incubator at the Farm Business Development Center in Grayslake, IL.

Thanks to the Lake County Farm Bureau for interviewing me Tuesday.  As your county board member, I would work steadfastly to preserve and protect family farms.

Family farms are not only an important part of Lake County’s past, but an essential part of its future. We need a sustained commitment at the county, state and national levels to strengthening and developing the next generation of family farmers. I look forward to advancing this conversation.

Thank You Sierra Club for Endorsing John Wasik For Lake County Board

I’m delighted to have my candidacy for Lake County Board endorsed by the Sierra Club.

As your Lake County Board (District 6) representative, I will work towards a renewable energy, infrastructure and stewardship plan that will shift the county towards 100% clean power.

It not only makes ethical and ecological sense, it makes sound economic sense to conserve resources and lower operating costs. This plan will create good paying jobs and a healthier environment for our families.

Lake County is ideally positioned to take a leadership role in renewable energy, conservation, environmental education and job creation. We can not only drastically lower our carbon footprint, a Green Lake County can set an example for the rest of the country — and future generations.

Our quest to protect the health of our environment starts with the will of the people.  With your support, we can “green” Lake County.  Will you help us?
